Meet the silversmith

Hi there, My name is Dori Embree.

I am the owner and artist behind Sorrel Silver. I started silversmithing in 2024 as a creative outlet to heal my teacher burnout. I took a few classes at the DIY Cave in Bend, Oregon and before I knew it the craft became a big enough passion that I was ready to take a leap of faith and explore entrepreneurship. With my families support I went for it and decided to launch my business in 2025.

I grew up in Spray, Oregon on the JU ranch. As a kid I spent a lot of time in the saddle and became partial to my aunts chunky sorrel quarter horse. During my senior year of high school I was fortunate enough to find my own horse which I would later name my jewelry business after.

In 2020 I married my husband, Arron. Together we have two boys. Between my family and my adventure into owning a business I stay pretty busy. When I am not making jewelry I enjoy going for walks, visiting friends and spending time with our animals.
