After deciding to try silversmithing, I discovered Jason Ogg'‘s TikTok and quickly became hooked on the craft. Jason, who runs Black Wolfe White Wolfe Design, had a vision to bring together silversmiths from around the country to create a massive charity auction piece for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas, benefiting the Justin Boots Cowboy Crisis fund. At first, I was reluctant after all as a parent and new business owner I already had a lot on my plate, but Jason later made a strong call to action, encouraging over 300 silversmiths to join the project. I decided to join in, and now I proudly share this historic collaboration with many talented artists across the field. Rio Grande Jewelry Supply generously donated belt clasps and helped by taking the initial photos of the project, adding to the excitement and momentum of this unique effort. The last round of photos was done by the talented Courtney Lujan from Healdton, Oklahoma.
My piece was a contribution for charity and my love for the western way of life. My charm can be seen in the middle of the belt made from turquoise mountain, silver and copper. Do you spy a copper horse?
